ASUS Plans to Bring Back Large Gaming Displays in a New Form

ASUS is preparing to revive large gaming monitors. These screens are called BFGD, which stands for Big Format Gaming Displays. NVIDIA first introduced this concept in 2018.

A New Product Coming Soon

The company will show a new product at CES 2026 in January. ASUS says this new screen will take up less space on your desk than the old model. The previous version was released in 2019. It had a 65-inch screen with 4K resolution and 144 Hz refresh rate. It cost 4,400 euros in Europe.

Different Ideas for the Design

ASUS has not revealed the exact details yet. There are several possibilities for how they will make the screen smaller:

  • It could be a short-throw projector that creates a large image without needing much distance
  • It might use a rollable OLED screen like some concepts from LG and Lenovo
  • It could simply be a thinner screen with a better wall mount or a redesigned stand

The company will reveal more information in January at the trade show in Las Vegas. This new generation aims to make large format gaming more practical for users.
